Stickwithu: A Handwritten Font That Elevates Web Design

I was working on a redesign for a boutique online store last week, and I needed a font that would feel personal yet professional. The client wanted something that conveyed warmth without sacrificing clarity. That’s when I stumbled upon Stickwithu—a handwritten font from Script Amp that immediately caught my eye.

Stickwithu has a distinct personality. It’s not overly ornate like some script fonts, but it carries a sense of elegance and approachability. The strokes are smooth and natural, giving the impression of handwriting rather than digital type. This makes it perfect for brands that want to communicate authenticity while maintaining a polished look.

Testing Stickwithu in a Real Project

I decided to test Stickwithu in the hero section of the website. The original design used a sans serif font, which worked well for readability but felt too generic. By swapping it with Stickwithu, the headline suddenly had more character. It felt like a personal message from the brand itself, which helped create a stronger emotional connection with the audience.

On mobile screens, I noticed that Stickwithu maintained its legibility even at smaller sizes. The spacing between letters wasn’t too tight, and the curves didn’t get lost on high-resolution displays. It also paired well with a clean sans serif font for body copy, which is essential for good typography hierarchy.

Where Stickwithu Shines in Web Design

Stickwithu isn’t just for headlines. I found it worked beautifully as a call-to-action button text on the product landing page. The soft, flowing style added a touch of sophistication to phrases like “Shop Now” or “Learn More.” It also looked great in blog headers and promotional banners where a more creative tone was appropriate.

For the checkout section, I kept the main text in a simple sans serif font but used Stickwithu for decorative accents—like thank-you messages or special offers. This allowed me to maintain readability while adding visual interest.

One thing I always consider when choosing a font is how it affects user behavior. Stickwithu’s unique style encourages people to pause and read, which can be beneficial for important messages or brand storytelling. However, I made sure not to overuse it, keeping it reserved for key elements so it didn’t become distracting.

Readability and Responsiveness

When using any script or handwritten font, readability is crucial. Stickwithu performed well across different screen sizes, but I did notice that it required careful line spacing and letter spacing adjustments, especially when used in longer paragraphs. For this reason, I limited its use to short phrases and headings.

On dark backgrounds, Stickwithu still looked sharp, though I recommended using a light color to ensure contrast. When placed over image banners, I found that subtle drop shadows helped make the text stand out without overpowering the visuals.

Another consideration was loading speed. Since Stickwithu is available as a webfont, I made sure to optimize its delivery by using font-display: swap and only loading the necessary weights. This helped keep the site’s performance intact while still benefiting from the font’s visual appeal.

Font Pairing and Brand Consistency

Pairing Stickwithu with a complementary font was an important step. I chose a modern sans serif font for body text, which created a nice balance between creativity and clarity. This combination worked well for the overall brand identity, making the site feel both professional and personable.

For a coaching website I recently designed, I used Stickwithu in the navigation menu and testimonials section. It gave the site a warm, inviting feel without compromising usability. In this case, the font supported the brand’s message of guidance and support, reinforcing the overall tone of the content.

I also checked the font’s licensing details before finalizing the project. Stickwithu comes with commercial usage rights, which was essential for the client’s needs. It also includes multiple styles and alternates, allowing for greater flexibility in design choices.

Whether you’re building a portfolio, launching a course, or redesigning a small business website, Stickwithu can be a valuable addition to your design toolkit. Its versatility and charm make it a great choice for any project that needs a little extra personality without losing its way in terms of usability.
